To retain certification applicants must within three years attend either:

*Option 1 - 3 VAZO sponsored training events in a 3 year period or
*Option 2 - 2 VAZO sponsored training events and 1 additional certification program, course, or approved program in a 3 year period or
*Option 3- 1 FALL VAZO sponsored training event and 2 additional certification programs, courses, or approved programs in a 3 year period.

Please note that Certification training can be counted as a Fall VAZO event if 2 of the 3 modules are attended.

It is the individual's responsibility to submit his or her re-certification application (17 kb PDF) and fee on or no more than six weeks prior to his/her expiration date.  Anyone failing to obtain recertification must retake the exam to retain a valid CZA or CZO. Everyone is encouraged to check the list of expiring certifications.

The certification holder must be member in good standing with VAZO and all dues are paid up as of the date of recertification.

Be it hereby resolved, that the VAZO certification program be amended to require re-certification every three years to maintain certification. Re-certification may be obtained by reexaming or demonstrated continuing professional development through successful completion of courses as approved by the Executive Board and the Education Committee.
