30th Virginia Certified Boards’ of Zoning Appeals (BZA) Program set for March. The award winning Virginia Certified BZA Program will be offered for the 30th time beginning March 5-6, 2012. The March session will be held at the Richmond Marriott West Hotel which is located in the Glen Allen section of Henrico County very near the I-64 Short Pump exit. The program’s concluding session will be held on Monday, May 14 in either Glen Allen or Charlottesville. Zoning practitioners, BZA members and community planners interested in registering for the program can do so online. The registration form, as well as additional information about the 10 week program, can be found on the website for the Citizens Planning Education Association of Virginia or CPEAV. The web address is planVirginia.org. Any questions regarding the certified BZA program can be directed to the CPEAV’s Director of Education, Mike Chandler. Rural Planning Caucus Annual Conference October 19-21, 2011 Mountain Lake in Giles County This year’s theme is “Home Grown Prosperity & Vitality in Your Community.” Our program agenda includes a mobile workshop and tour of two Giles County ‘Round the Mountain Artisans; presentations on Rural Economic Strategies, Sustainability of Places, TMDLs and the Environment; and a legal session on Development Bonds.
